Dr Erica Schwartz was formally appointed by the US Senate as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a rare win for the Trump administration after a series of numerous attempts to fill senior health positions. The Senate officially confirmed Dr Erica Schwartz as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday, placing her at the helm of the agency.
Erica schwartz was confirmed 51-44 by the senators. She is President Trump’s third choice to direct the CDC.
Schwartz is due to take the reins of the schwartz cdc at a time the agency has been reeling from political meddling and low morale for some time now.
Schwartz, first and foremost, is an epidemiologist. That means that at least a major part her previous experience is based in research. Rewriting models for the example of measles are in the sphere of her professional experience and expertise
In April, Trump nominated dr schwartz, who served as Trump’s first-term deputy surgeon general. At 54, Schwartz is a board-certified physician with a specialty in preventive medicine. She was the U.S. Coast Guard’s Chief Medical Officer from 2015 to 2019. Schwartz’s medical degree is from Brown University and her law degree is from the University of Maryland.
